The D'Ambrosio Twins reveal all about their exciting new projects

Publish date: 2024-06-04

Bianca and Chiara D’Ambrosio might only be 13 years old, but the twins are truly taking the acting, music and YouTube world by storm.

After making their entertainment debut at the tender age of three, starring as Summer Newman in CBS’ The Young and the Restless, Bianca and Chiara’s careers have grown from strength to strength over the past ten years.

We’ve witnessed the twins rack up a number of great film and TV credits, whilst they’ve also ventured into the music industry with the release of original tracks and covers. Their most recent single ‘Young and Free’ showcases their fun and youthful side, whilst their Got You Covered album allowed them to explore their love of rock, as they covered a number of their favourite songs from the likes of Weezer, Twenty One Pilots and The Ramones.

Now, Bianca and Chiara are taking on two of their most exciting projects yet. First off, the twins will be appearing in TigerBeat TV’s new original series Sage Alexander: The Dark Realm, which premieres on July 14. The show, based on the book series by Steve Copling, also stars Hayden Summerall, Madison Hu and Brooke Butler.

The D’Ambrosio twins are also expanding on their YouTube presence as they’ve joined Brooklyn and Bailey’s Squared channel, which focuses specifically on twins. Every Thursday, Bianca and Chiara will be sharing snippets of their lives with the viewers through challenges and funny videos.

We recently had the opportunity to catch up with Bianca and Chiara to discuss their exciting new projects, turning 13, their charity work and much more.

Hey Bianca and Chiara, welcome back to CelebMix! It’s been a long time since we last caught up with you, how has the first half of 2018 been treating you?

Hi! Happy New Year! LOL. We have been pretty happy so far with 2018… so much has happened, from turning 13, guest starring on Nickelodeon’s Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn, being part of TigerBeat TV’s Sage Alexander: The Dark Realm, joining the Squared YouTube family (which is one of our favorite channels featuring twins, started by Brooklyn and Bailey), and working with the Justice clothing brand.

We’re excited to hear that you’ve got a few new projects on the go! Starting with the new TigerBeat TV original series Sage Alexander: The Dark Realm. What can you tell us about your role in the show?

We play twins, and love our characters’ direction. You get to meet us in Season 1, but really get to know our characters in Season 2. You’ll have to wait and see to learn more!

The show is based on the young adult book series by Steve Copling. Were you familiar with the book beforehand or have you read it since being involved with the show?

The book is amazing!! We are honored to be part of this project, and Steve even gave us a signed copy while we were on set.

You star alongside Hayden Summerall, who featured in your music video for ‘Young and Free’. What was it like to work with him again?

We love working with Hayden, and his family is so nice. We knew Brooke Butler and Madison Hu beforehand also, so every day on set just felt like we were spending time with friends.

Do you have any funny stories from your time on set?

There’s one scene where Hayden was supposed to unlock something… but no one could not get the lock off. It just didn’t want to come off we guess!

You’ve also joined Squared, a YouTube channel dedicated to twins. How did the collaboration come about?

We have been huge fans of Brooklyn and Bailey for a long time. They are great role models in general, but for us, even more since they are twins. They have a great, positive approach to being influencers. We became fans of Squared because it was a YouTube channel dedicated to twins like us. A while back, they liked a couple of our posts and we sent them a DM thanking them. Later they approached us to see if we would be interested in joining the family – of course we said yes! It’s incredible to be part of the community they built and we are super grateful to Squared and Brooklyn and Bailey! Make sure to catch us on the channel every Thursday!

We’ve already seen your introduction video…what can we expect from your future videos on the channel?

We have been really into choreography and dance, so you’ll see that. We’re sure there will be some music in there and lots of fun challenges! We might even have some special guests join us occasionally – including our Dad, who is the funniest guy we know!

Something we have to mention from your intro video is your love of The Greatest Showman, which we fully agree with! What’s your favorite song from it?

Oh! That’s easy…  “This Is Me”!!

You seem to be pretty busy with the acting/YouTube side of things at the moment, but we of course also know you as singers/instrumentalists/performers. Are you currently working on music? If so, when can we hear it?

We are always thinking about music. If it’s not singing in the car, we’re either taking music lessons or practicing our instruments. We definitely plan on doing more. Maybe more covers, maybe more originals… how about both??

Outside of your busy careers, you’re also passionate philanthropists and support animal and anti-bullying charities. Can you tell us a bit about your charity work?

We are on the Board of Directors for Boo2Bullying and work on events and raising awareness. That is a huge issue for us, especially as we get older since social media is such an easy place for people to bully others. As you mentioned, we are also very passionate about animals. We are always trying to encourage people to ‘adopt, not shop’ when it comes to a pet. We have two rescue dogs that we couldn’t love more, Max and Callie.  So we totally talk the talk and walk (the dog) walk.

You celebrated your 13th birthday a few months ago, happy belated! What did you do to celebrate?

Thank you! We kept it low key… Okay, maybe not… We actually had a really fun party, and had all our friends come to celebrate. Lots of dancing, food and laughter.  We ended up with a special guest…what was her name again??? Oh yeah, THE Madison Beer. Celebrating turning 13 while having Madison Beer and all your friends sing you Happy Birthday… I think we are still glowing from that!

Despite being so young, you’ve already achieved so much in your career. What’s been your highlight so far?

Every day and every opportunity is a blessing. Even the parts or opportunities we don’t get. Just being able to do something you are passionate about and work hard at is so rewarding. Just this year alone, between being on Nickelodeon again with NRDD, filming Sage Alexander, turning 13, going to Europe, working with Brooklyn & Bailey… It’s hard to believe the year is only half way through!!

What’s next on your career bucket list?

Career-wise, Chiara is working on writing a script now. We want to start to write, direct and edit our own projects.

Do you have any plans for the rest of the year that you can share with us?

We are super excited about working with Justice clothing brand. They are working to help inspire girls to achieve their dreams and we are so honored to be a part of this. We also have two movies we are starting in the next few months.

Thank you so much for having us    XOXO B & C
