Sydneys Victoria St, Potts Point terraces are the weeks top sales
A Sydney street with a “changing face” notched up both the top auction sale and top private treaty sales in the eastern suburbs over the past week — and they were both by the same agent.
The nicely renovated circa 1885 four-bedroom terrace at No. 152, which records show is owned by Stelios Coudounaris, went for $10.6m privately, while the six-bedder at No.99, owned by film and TV composer Antony Partos, achieved $6m at last week’s auction.
The agent who made both sales, James Boon of Richardson & Wrench Elizabeth Bay/Potts Point, says there are currently six homes being done up in the street.
“Victoria St has a changing face ... most people are renovating and building beautiful homes close to the city,” Boon said.

“It’s being converted from a back street of the Cross into a residential hub.
“Backpackers are being turned into houses and the former Soho site, the Piccadilly Hotel owned by Phil George is being turned into units and five-star retail.”
Coudounaris had bought No.152 for about $3.5m via Richardson & Wrench about 15 years ago but did a major renovation just a few years ago.
The house next door, another nicely renovated four-bedroom semi, had sold for $10.3m in 2021.
Boon had a guide of $9.5m-$10m for No.152 and the reserve probably would have been $10.5m.
With two buyers keen, Boon had the $10.6m deal done just two weeks after it hit his books — the auction scheduled for three weeks’ time no longer required.
The rumour is that Coudounaris has bought an apartment for circa $20m in a new development that Boon is selling called Billyard Ave.
At last week’s auction for No.99, Boon had three registered parties.
With auctioneer Edward Riley presiding, bidding opened at $5m and rose in $50k increments.
The guide had been $5.5m and $6m was the reserve.
Boon’s keeping mum about the buyers of both properties.
