Roger and Bradley Stockton, a father-and-son Sidecar crew, were sadly killed in a crash at the Isle of Man TT on Friday, bringing the overall number of fatalities in 2022 to five.

The tragedy occurred barely one mile into the track, near the Ago’s Leap segment, where Sidecar driver Cesar Chanal died in an accident during the first Sidecar race last Saturday.

Roger, 56, and Bradley Stockton, 21, both from Crewe, were killed in the incident on Friday, according to TT organizers.

After an accident during yesterday’s Sidecar race, a father and his 21-year-old son became the fourth and fifth racers killed in this year’s Isle of Man TT races.

Roger Stockton, 56, and his son Bradley, both from Crewe, Cheshire, died in a crash on the second lap of Friday’s race — the same spot on the 37.73-mile route where sidecar driver Cesar Chanel was murdered last Saturday.

Roger Stockton was competing in the event for the 20th time, finishing 12 times in the top 20 and four times in the top ten. The passenger, Bradley Stockton, made his debut this year and finished seventh in the first race. The duo finished second in the British F2 championship.

The Isle of Man TT Races can confirm that Roger Stockton, 56, and Bradley Stockton, 21, both from Crewe, Cheshire, were both killed in an incident on the second and last lap of the second Sidecar Race of the 2022 Isle of Man TT Races, according to a statement from TT chiefs.

Just under one mile into the lap, the incident occurred near Ago’s Leap. Roger and Bradley were father and son, respectively, as well as driver and passenger.

Roger was a seasoned TT participant, having competed in his 20th TT race today.

He competed in the TT on a regular basis from 2000 to 2008, then returned in 2010, 2017, and this year. He had a total of twelve top-20 finishes, four top-10 finishes, and ten Bronze Replicas over his career.
