His band Born in the Flood was doing well, but he formed another band named the Wheel.

After that, he formed another band, the Night Sweats. The band released an album named Closer. The album did good, and the band toured worldwide in support of the album. They dropped their second album in March 2018, which debuted at number 11 on the Billboard 200. The album was named Tearing at the Seams. Currently, his new album ‘and It’s Still all right’ has gained lots of attention. The album is inspired by themes of love and loss in 2020. Similarly, in December of 2020, Nathaniel contributed the cathartic single ‘Redemption’ to Palmer.

Nathaniel Rateliff started getting recognition in the year 2018. He was awarded the Americana Honors & Awards in 2018 for Duo/Group of the Year for The Night Sweats.
